Your Blog Setup Just Got Better!

Starting February 1st, 2011 my blog building fee will go to $137.00.
But with the price increase you will also receive a important increase in value.
Recently I’ve been studying security issues related to WordPress blogs and I’ve learned a lot. As a result the blogs I setup for you will be much safer from hackers. And for my present clients, I have gone back and made the necessary changes to your sites to make them safer as well.
I am also going to be offering a few free custom built blog themes of my own design. These themes will be bare bones allowing you to change the color scheme, page layout, add a custom header and other features. I will have these done and up on the site by Feb. 1st. (I hope!)
And another feature I am adding, and this is a BIG one! You will get One Hour of Phone Consulting to help you get your blog up and running. If you are local come you can come on over to the shop and we can do it here. Normally I would charge at least $65 an hour for this type of consultation so this is a great value!
So not only will you get the same great blog setup as before but you’ll receive additional site security, free custom themes and one hour of personal consultation.
Remember that the increase doesn’t go into effect until Feb. 1st, 2011. So if you act now you can save some money and I will even add your new site to all the search engines, directories and a number of social bookmarking sites as a way of saying thank you!

Introducing Buffalo Internet Marketing Services

I recently created a new website/blog called Buffalo Internet Marketing Services.
Why? Because I have been posting a lot about Google Places and Local Search and how it is essential for your business to be listed there.
It occurred to me that I was diluting the purpose of The Blog Builder Guy site by posting about Google Place and Local Search. After all this blog is about blog building not internet marketing services. And hey, I’m The Blog Builder Guy…I like to build blogs!!
So this blog will retain it’s focus and deal with blog setup and related topics and internet marketing solutions will be explored at Buffalo Internet Marketing Services.
Of course I now have another blog to maintain…woo hoo! Perhaps the coming new year is a good time to get my priorities in order. I think I said that last year too! But I digress!

The Power of Social Media

A friend of ours recently posted on Facebook about a bad experience they had with a local restaurant here in the Buffalo area. Fully half of the comments on the post said that they wouldn't consider going there after reading about our friend's experience.
While I'm sure it won't put the restaurant out of business they will lose money because of it. And I'd bet that they do not even know that people are talking about them or maybe they don't care.
Granted this isn't a big deal in the overall scheme of things but it does point out that when people are unhappy about something they use social media to tell others about it. And of course they also share the good experiences as well.
Whether it be a blog, Twitter, Facebook or some other social networking site people are talking about you and your business. The question is do you want to take part in the conversation?

This is so cool!! I'm writing this post from my iPhone. The typing is taking me forever though…Lol!
This is just another example of how versatile a blog can be especially when coupled with smart phone technology.
I can now update the blog anytime anywhere! Got to go the typing is taking forever!

I'm going to do a short video for the blog explaining what The Blog Builder Guy will do for you. I'm working on a script for it. And I use the word script very loosely as this won't be anything fancy. In fact, it will be my first foray into the world of video.
I'm a little on the nervous side but I've been practicing my "lines" and the jitters are starting to go away…until the camera starts to roll!
So stay tuned and hopefully by Monday the video will be live!!!!
